Meet Angela

Warmth. Expertise. Results.

Angela is one of those rare coaches whose warmth fills the pool before she ever says a word. With over 12 years of experience teaching swimmers of every age and ability — from babies learning survival skills to competitive athletes refining their technique — she brings a level of expertise that's as deep as it is genuine.

Her Background

From the Pool Deck to the Science Lab

Angela is a former high-level competitive swimmer who turned her passion into a profession. She earned her Bachelor's in Exercise and Sports Science from Nova Southeastern University with a specialization in swimming biomechanics — which means she doesn't just coach from instinct. She understands the mechanics, motor learning, and injury prevention behind every stroke at a scientific level.

During her undergraduate studies, she also produced two published research studies focused on the biomechanics of the swimming start — a foundation that continues to inform how she coaches technique at every level.

She also holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling — a branch of psychology — from Nova Southeastern University, where she completed a year working directly with children at Memorial Hospital. That foundation shaped how she approaches every lesson, with equal attention to the physical, technical, emotional, and psychological aspects of each student's development and stage.

Safety Is Everything

Because Water Is Everywhere

Because water is everywhere — safety is everything.

Angela spent over eight years as a lifeguard at Nova Southeastern University, serving as Head Lifeguard and overseeing a full lifeguard team. She is certified in CPR and First Aid and takes South Florida's reality seriously. Pools, lakes, ponds, canals — water is everywhere here, and Angela makes sure every student understands why learning to swim isn't optional.

Even when a child is hesitant, Angela finds a way to make them want to learn — because she knows it could literally save their life.

Her Approach with Kids

Consent-Led. Play-Filled. Built on Trust.

While Angela works with students of all ages, children make up the heart of her current roster — and her personality is a natural match for it. She is easygoing, warm, and deeply tuned into how kids actually think and feel.

She leads with consent, giving children choices between two skills so they feel in control of their lesson while she guides them exactly where they need to go. Depending on the lesson structure, some sessions include one to two minutes of intentional playtime — with toys the child brings, toys Angela brings, or a mix of both. It is never filler. It builds trust, keeps kids engaged, and makes them excited to come back.

Her Approach with Adults

Every Adult Swimmer Has a Different Goal

Angela currently coaches competitive adults on a swim team twice per week — and that experience runs alongside a decade of private adult lessons that span the full spectrum of what adult swimming looks like.

She has taught complete beginners in their forties, fifties, and sixties who had never floated in their lives. She has worked with triathletes preparing for Ironman races, open water swimmers building endurance and efficiency, recreational swimmers who want to incorporate swimming into their fitness routine, and competitive swimmers looking for private coaching to sharpen what their team training cannot address. No two adult students have the same goal — and Angela never treats them as if they do.

Her Bachelor's specialization in swimming biomechanics and her two published research studies on the mechanics of the swimming start give her a technical depth that most coaches simply do not have. She understands not just what to fix — but why it needs to be fixed and exactly how the body needs to move to do it efficiently.

For beginners and survival-focused adults, Angela gets in the water with you. She meets you where your comfort level is, builds your trust in the water, and works with you until floating and moving yourself safely through the water becomes second nature — regardless of your age.

For technique and performance-focused swimmers, Angela coaches primarily from the pool deck, offering the same kind of focused, personalized feedback you would receive from a high-level competitive coach — on your schedule, at your home pool, with 100% of her attention on you.

Whatever brings you to the water, Angela will meet you there.
